Disney World Budget Vacation

If you’re living in Southern California, or are planning to have a vacation trip there, then stopping by at Disneyland would definitely be in your plans. Despite of the rising costs of travelling, it’s still possible for you to give the world famous Disneyland a visit without having to break your bank.

Tickets

If you’re a Southern California resident, there are a lot of ways that you can save some dough on your Disneyland tickets. First off, the park offers three Southern California resident passes available at different price ranges.

The cheapest pass gives you unlimited access to both Disney’s California Adventure and Disneyland for one whole year. However, there are blackout dates in which you can’t use the pass, and such dates can count up quite a number, especially during their peak season.

You can also opt for the mid-range ticket that basically has the same benefits but has lesser blackout dates, mostly blacking out holidays and weekends. The last pass, which is the most expensive, does not have any blackout dates. It also includes parking already.

The cheapest pass has almost the same value of 3 single tickets, so if you’re planning to visit the park for more than 3 times in a year and could be versatile with the dates you’ll be visiting, then this pass would be the cheaper way to go.

The second choice could be taken advantage by almost everyone. You can check out a lot of grocery store chains, since most of them offer discounts to Disney tickets if you’re a member of their preferred shopper’s club.

Get Discounted!

Additionally, a lot of companies that are Southern California based give their employees discount passes that can be used by the whole family. Even AAA offers discounted tickets for their members. Additionally, active US Military service members are entitled to having discounts as well. Thus, try your best to avoid buying tickets at the gate with full prices before you have checked out all of these options.

Food Matters

The nice thing about Disneyland is that it’s set in a real neighborhood. Hence, you have the ability to walk out the gates walk down a few blocks and eat at the nearby fast food restaurant that you want.

If you’re staying in a Disneyland hotel, most would offer you free breakfast and portable hot tub already. So, if you’ll be choosing a hotel, try to get one that offers free breakfast. If you do get a hotel that does so, take advantage of it and tell your family to eat up during the morning buffet.

The majority of Disney area hotels have a shuttle service that regularly loops back and forth from your hotel to the park. If you’ve got a fridge in your hotel room, you could make sandwiches during the morning and put them in your fridge. When lunch time comes, you could then ride the shuttle back to your room and grab a bite of your premade sandwich.

Doing this can also be a good way to have a break within the day since you also get some time to spend in the comforts of your room, in which you could rest, sleep, watch TV, listen to music or basically do anything that you want to do, before deciding to go back to the park for a round two!

Navigating Barcelona Airport

“El Prat”, Barcelona’s international airport, is one of the main gateways into the beautiful country of Spain. It is extremely close to central Barcelona, only fifteen kilometers via a direct route on the C246 freeway in the direction of Castelldefels. No matter what the day or the season, this is a quick and easy run.

Many travelers no longer insist on going to Europe in the summer, since so many bargain flights are available all year long. In conjunction with cheaper flights, hotels and resorts in popular tourist areas offer similar bargains. A combination package of airfare, hotel and ground transportation (car rental, train and bus passes, or limousine service) offer savings that are very attractive.

Getting around Barcelona and its airport can be very easy. You can choose any number of ways to travel to and from Spain; usually the way you choose is dictated by your budget. Here are some tips to help you get around easily, enjoy your stay, and keep within your budget.

There are many types of transportation available, and they are all very convenient to the arrival gates. Some modes of transport may need prior booking, so keep that in mind when planning your trip. The first mode of transport you can choose is to rent a car. Whether your planned stay is short or long in duration, a car is a very good choice. Most short stays tend to be business trips, and in that case, time is usually very valuable. If you rent a car, you can get your car and go directly to your hotel rather than going by a schedule or waiting for someone to pick you up. In addition, if you have to visit clients out of town, you have the ease of a car at your convenience. If you are travelling on vacation, a car rental is also a good choice, especially if you are travelling with family or friends. The expense of a car rental, when divided by a number of people is not so great, and you have the advantage of visiting spots that you may not be able to get to by train or bus.

The next kind of transport to consider is a taxi. If you prefer to have someone else do the driving, you can get a taxi and just relax and enjoy your surroundings as you travel the 15 minutes into Barcelona. From Terminals A,B and C, just look for the taxi stands. The taxis at Barcelona airport are a distinctive white with red stripes, so it is easy to spot the taxi stands. The fare to Plaza Catalunya is about EU16, and to Sagrada Familia about EU19. There is a EU.90 surcharge for each piece of luggage. There are special taxis in Barcelona for people with handicaps. If you want more information about taxi service at Barcelona airport, call 932.235.151.

Another transportation option to consider is public transportation. Look for the many signs in the airport that direct you to the trains. The train service runs from 6:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. You will take the Mataro Line, Sant Station, to Plaza Catalunya or to the Arc de Triomf. Buses leave from the front of Terminals A, B and C. For the trip to Plaza Catalunya, take the Aerobus (A1), This bus runs on the same schedule as the trains.

Of course, you always have the option of hiring a private limo service or book last minute hotels. This may range from a Mercedes, which you may want to treat yourself to if you are on your honeymoon, or some other special trip, or just feel like spoiling yourself, to a thirteen passenger van service for a large group. These types of limos or vans are also available for in city touring or into the countryside. They are available with a bilingual guide, if you like. this kind of a dream trip is only available with a four hour minimum rental.

For more information on any of these services, you can visit the information booths conveniently located in the airport lobby. Services such as hotel bookings, transportation and sightseeing services can be easily arranged before you even leave the airport.

Air Travel And Luxury Vacations: How Airlines Work

In this new age of information, the concept of people being able to book their own luxury vacations has permeated the mindset of many travelers. These new trends began when airlines made air tickets available for purchase over the Internet. This truly revolutionized the travel industry. But buyer beware, the truth is hidden! When you think you are getting the best air deal available, you may not get the whole story. Take a look behind the scenes on how airline ticketing works.

The Airline’s Goal

When the time comes for you to buy your airline ticket or floor scrubber machine, whether it’s airfare for the beginning of a luxury world cruise or for a quick trip to visit out of state relatives, keep in mind that the airline’s goal is to make people pay in a hurry. By changing prices on a daily basis, airlines attempt to pressure travelers into buying the ticket at that moment. They wish to take you for as much as possible as soon as possible. To enforce this attitude, airlines also charge huge premiums for last minute tickets. Why? Because they can, and because the desperate traveler will pay for it.

Air Tickets and Travel Agents

Now more than ever, airlines are making tickets available online. Keep in mind; though airlines promise the best ticket price, they are talking about for that particular flight. This does not mean that all flights are made available for purchase. If you are dedicated to finding the best price on your own, you should call the airlines directly. But the best choice for all luxury travel vacations and airline tickets is to call your local travel agency. You will probably be charged a small service fee for air tickets, but may still end up paying less than you would online. They will save you the time and hassle of calling the airline yourself. But there are some key terms you need to keep in mind. You can “reserve” a seat with an airline, meaning it is placed on hold and you must pay for it one week before you depart. The only way to reserve is directly with the airlines, and some big name travel agencies like American Express Travel.

Airlines spend millions of marketing dollars to convince you to go to their website to book air tickets. For some travelers interested in purchasing cheap airfare to add on to their luxury travel vacation, the Internet may be a good place to begin. But airlines keep the pressure on by changing prices and holding the threat of selling out to attempt to make travelers pay the most money as quickly as possible. Use all resources available and call a travel agency or the airline direct. Don’t let anyone bully you into paying more!

ITALY,MAGGIORE LAKE,BAVENO,ZACCHERA HOTELS,HOTEL SIMPLON

Italy is consistently in the top five luxury travel destinations for American Express Vacation clients.  Italy is full of history, beginning with the ancient Roman Empire, to the rise of the Vatican, to the Italian renaissance.  Traveling to Italy requires certain tips to make your luxury travel vacation.

Hotel Tips

Though traveling to Italy is quite safe. However, it’s advisable and useful to gather some basic Italy travel tips.  There are hundreds of small luxury hotels of the world and the cities of Italy have plenty to choose from.  Some Italian hotels, and nearly all hotels in Rome, have at least one staff member who speaks English.  Search out this person to ask for additional tips, such as great dining spots, local sights, public transportation and shopping areas.  Staying in touch with family and friends can be expensive in Italy, especially if you call from your hotel.  Keep in mind that American cell phones will not work without special international services or devices.  And since hotels tend to overcharge for long-distance and international calls, it is best to make such calls from public phones, using international calling cards.  Staying in a luxury hotel is quite fun, but if you have already been there and done that, it’s never too late to consider booking one of the many available luxury world cruises throughout the world.

Shopping Tips

One big draw for Italian tourists on a luxury travel trip is the shopping tour.  Consider booking one of these guided tours, instead of charging off on your own.  These shopping tours offer travelers a more comfortable way to “shop ‘til you drop.”  Most of these tours include transportation to several different shopping districts and stores.  Your guide will speak both English and Italian, in order to mediate your shopping experience.  Yes, your major credit cards, such as American Express, Visa and Master Card, will work.  But keep in mind that most American credit cards will charge a hefty currency fee, and use the most unattractive exchange rates.  The best way to be safe and save money would be to use a combination of Euro Travelers Checks, Euros in cash and a credit card.  Pick Pocketing can be an unfortunate reality of modern travel, so spreading the type of money you carry is the best choice.

Most stores and shops in Italy have operating hours that can be considered different, at least in comparison to what is expected in the United States.  Normally, most Italian shops are open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Stores are usually closed between 1 and 3:30 p.m., to allow employees a chance to have a family lunch.  Stores usually reopen around 3:30 or 4 p.m., and finally close around 7:30 to 8 p.m.  In large cities and tourist areas, there is a tendency to stay open from 9.30 a.m. to 7.30 p.m., with possible variations from town to town. Keep in mind that shopping etiquette in Italy is much different than in the United States.  When shopping for clothing, take note that many stores will not allow shoppers to try on shirts and blouses.  Also, there is a size discrepancy, so make sure that an attendant measures your body before you purchase.  It is also customary to tip attendants if they are personally assisting you with fittings and selection.  Whether shopping or relaxing in a small luxury hotel, a customary tip can go a long way!

Your accommodations are often considered one of the most important parts of your hostel review so use these tips to make the most of your upscale hotel stay.  When you use these American Express Tour tips to experience the best of small luxury hotels and high class shopping, you can enjoy yourself with no strings attached!

Booking Holidays Online – Cheaper than Travel Agents?

Booking Holidays Online

The way in which many of us book holidays has changed dramatically in recent years. Ten years ago many of us would have relied on our local travel agents to find us a good deal.

When we came to think about our next trip away, we’d simply wander down the high street and nip into a few travel agents shops, picking up a number of different holiday brochures to compare prices offered by different tour operators such as http://www.tourvasia.com.

Comparing prices sometimes involved taking into account certain special offers that might be available, or any additional costs caused by the time of year (school holidays, for example) or number of people travelling.

When thinking about destinations, resorts or particular hotels, our opinions might largely be shaped by what friends and family had told us, what we’d read in magazines, or maybe what we’d seen in holiday-related television programmes.

The arrival of the internet and its increasing availability to many of us has undoubtedly changed the goalposts. We now have the ability to research our chosen destinations online – we even have access to the thoughts of previous visitors to the hotels that we may be planning to stay at.

We can compare prices relatively quickly and also have more options in terms of how we structure our holidays. We’re no longer limited by the narrow boundaries of the package holiday market – we can now book our flights and accommodation independently, with far less hassle.

So everything has got better. Or has it?

The internet has brought us a lot of information but how much of that information is really reliable? When I read reviews of places that I’ve visited, I often find that other people’s experiences are very different from my own.

It’s clear that we all have different expectations of what is involved in having a good holiday.

It seems to me that, while holiday prices may well have come down, many of us are left looking to trawl through masses of information, much of which may be considerably less reliable than that once provided by the good old-fashioned travel agent.

Maybe we should take the “progress” provided by the internet with a small pinch of salt.
